Motorcycle Repair: S&S carburator, air fuel mixture, fuel air mixture

Question
what is the correct setting on an S&S carburator super E for the fuel air mixture. This is on a 1983 Sportster 1000 iron head. Right now it is getting way to much fuel and seems to be flooding the carb and wont stay idled to run. Thankyou very much Bill

Start the bike and let it warm up. Slowly turn the air/fuel mixture screw inward, just until the bike starts to stumble and then outward about 1/4 turn and its set.
If youa re fouling plugs then your jets are not correct. You would need to go smaller on the intermediate jet.
