Motorcycle Repair: Changing Outer Primary on 2007 Fatboy, clutch gear, gasket

Good day,

I'm looking to remove my outer primary cover for replacement and I was wondering if you could offer and tips or things to watch out for before I attempt the replacement.

Do I have to drop the oil in order to do this?

First, drain the primnary oil. remove the bolts holding the cover on. Put a pan under it, you will drip some primary fluid. remove old gasket and clean the gasket surface. Install the new gasket and cover. Tighten all the bolts and install new primary oil (bike standing upright and fill  about 1/2 inch above clutch gear)  and your set to go.
