Motorcycle Repair: Installing A jet kit., air fuel mixture, yamaha v max

I am  a pretty good mechanic but have never installed a jet kit.  I have a 2006, Yamaha V-Max.  Does the carb bank have to come off the bike?  Is there anything I should be aware of before I get into this project?  Any advice would be appreciated.  I want to feel more confident before I begin.  Thanks.

Hi Rich,

Yes, the carbs must be removed.

You should be aware of air-fuel mixture tuning procedures. I find that jet kits get the A/F mix in the ballpark. Additional tuning is often necessary.
