Motorcycle Repair: Gasoline coming out of a tube, overflow tube, sportster

When I started my 77 sportster the other day gasoline came out of a little tube and leaked on the ground. It hasn't ever done this before. Why do you think it happened? It eventually stopped. Should I be concerned?

the tube you are refering to is the overflow tube. What has happened is you might have had a speck of dirt inthe bowl or the needle and seat is bad. Keep an eye on it and if it still does it you will have to remove the carb and rebuild it.
