Motorcycle Repair: oil, synthetic oil, good luck

  why is it when switching over to full synthetic
 oil your suppose to use semi synthetic first then go full
 synthetic? [2] why aren't you suppose to use oil in bikes
 labeled 'energy conserving'? or oil SL approved?

This is somthing new to me, I have never heard of going to semi before going to full synthetic. I have switchedc harleys over to full synethic from oil many times without any problems.
As to the the different oils, you need to check with the manufacture as to why they are saying this
