Motorcycle Repair: Key wont turn on gas tank, ninja 250, gas tank

I tried opening up my gas tank after a month or two without riding my 1990 ninja 250, but the key wont turn all the way or something. The gas tank wont open!!! What do I do?

Hi Ray.
 Sometimes you can run into this kind of trouble.  What you need is a good lubricant with a rust-breaker in it.  Squirt a bit into the lock and let it sit for a short while.  Insert the key and try turning it.  Wiggle it a bit as you try to turn it.  Do not try to force it as you might break the key in the lock.
