Motorcycle Repair: Honda vlx 600, honda vlx 600, complant

I have a 96 Honda vlx 600 with 2000 miles on it 'it runs great but the only complant is when I down shift it pops through the carb. Is there a fix for that?

Hi Scott.

 What you are getting is a backfire.  That is an issue with valve timing.  It is probably just a little off.  Nothing to affect performance, but if it continues to happen it could cause other problems down the road.
