Motorcycle Repair: adjusting 83 shovelhead clutch, clutch lever, shovelhead

having a really hard time setting my clutch back up, bike is lurching ahead any pointers that you may have would be an asset at this point

Answer
First, adjust he cable so you have play in it. Go to the clutch adjuster. Slowly turn the screw inward, just until it touches and then back out about 1/8 of a turn. Now go tot he cable and adjust it so that you have about 1/8 inch play in the clutch lever.
