A: Start by following my instructions.

Next, visit "www.thegsresources.com" and read about common problems with the GS Series motorcycles.

The L model's CDI (TCI) were prone to failure. Check the CDI with a known good unit. Unlikely test procedure unless you're a dealership with parts from another GS550L or the parts department shelf.
