Motorcycle Repair: changing oil, kawasaki 454 ltd, correct quantity

my question is simple.I am a new rider and just purchased a used 1987 Kawasaki 454 LTD and just wanted to know the correct way to change engine oil.

Hi Gino.

Run the engine to warm-up temp and shut it off.  Drain the oil immediately and replace the oil filter as well (as per the maintainence schedule in your repair manual--you DO have one, right?).

 Reinstall the drain plug, install the new oil filter (if scheduled) and fill with the correct quantity of oil.
