Motorcycle Repair: Electrical, honda cb350f, starter clutch
QuestionI have a 76' Cb500T. I recently replaced the starter clutch inside the alternator housing. When I tried to start the bike after the install I got nothing. Not even a click from the starter relay. I have replaced the starter relay and i am still having the same problem. I also have a new battery. The previous owner rigged a start button onto the bike that had worked prior to changing the starter clutch. I have also removed the speedometer and RpM gauge, would that make any diffrence to it being abe to start? I have a digital multimeter to measure but have no idea where to even begin.

The speed & tach should not be related. The rigged start button may be something to investigate.
I suspect an electrical connector is not connected or conducting, and/or a fuse is blown. Otherwise, I suspect something with the work performed with the alternator.
