Motorcycle Repair: Lowering a Gs 550 L, progressive shocks, lowering blocks
QuestionShe needs 1 to 1.5 inches of drop. I don't think she could get more than that and still have enough travel for normal riding. Thanks

I just purchased a 1980 Gs 550 L for my wife and it is just an inch or so too tall for her. I looked at progressive shocks but none were listed specifically for the 550. Can you suggest some ideas for lowering the rear of the bike slightly? - Thanks!

Dave, how much of a drop does she need ? 2 inches or more ? once i know this i can be more accurate with the solution. most progressive shocks are a bolt on shock and keep the factory ride height but there are work arounds on that i just need to know how much were talking about.
