Motorcycle Repair: Light bar instilation, suzuki intruder 1500, instilation instructions

I own a suzuki intruder 1500 year 2000. I purchased a light bar off ebay, no instilation instructions came with it..  It is original suzuki light bar.  However previous owner modified switch so as to turn on/off from the handle bar.  I have tried to contect it several times and I pop a fuse.  Now I notice the bike starter will not turn over just a ripid click sound.  So you tell I now have two problems one of conecting and now starting the bike.  Help

Hi Jan,

I need to see the wiring on the light bar to help you with installation. Try contacting Suzuki for a copy of installation instructions.

Blowing the fuse is caused by a direct short to ground.

The rapid clicking sound indicates a weak or defective battery.

To test the battery.... measure battery voltage with a multimeter. Measure specific gravity of each battery cell with a Hydrometer designed for motorcycle use.
