Motorcycle Repair: bandit engine probs, gasket seal, plug holes

i have a n reg(95)600 bandit that dont like the rain
and im at a loss what to do. as i see it water  is gettig in via plug ports .ive tried spraying wd40 to no avail ive temporarily sealed the  plug hole rubbers to the engine which works 80% but any suggestions would be of some help.when it gets wet i
start losing cylinders but this will go right with running untill it gets wet again

Hi Colin.

The problem may not be water in the plug holes so much as water seeping into the spark plug caps. Your description sounds like shorting, which would be occurring in the spark plug caps if water were seeping into them where the wire enters.

Try resealing them to the wires with some good quality gasket seal and see what happens.
