QuestionMy husband is working on a Honda CL 175 and he would like to know what the gap should be on the spark plug. Hope you can help! Thanks so much!
AnswerCarolyn, the plugs are pre-gapped from the factory and should be correct, as they are. Specified gap is .024"-.028".
Tell him to check the function of the spark advancer, behind the point plate, then set point gap to .012"-.016" on the high spot on the point cam, then set the point plate so the points open at the F mark alignment.
If he removed the carburetors or is cleaning them, be sure to put the slides back in the correct side. There are L & R side slides and the cutaway goes to the air filters...
Be sure battery is fully charged, as this is a battery operated ignition system.
