QuestionMark I am considering replacing the stock Honda stem bearings with all-balls tapered, to get rid of the 45 mph "wobble" common on the Wing. (Honda refuses to do anything about it)
I have the stem nut socket tool, and the maint. manual. It looks like I can remove the stem myself, and then take it to a dealer with the correct "bearing removal tool" to actually replace the bearings.
Any special thoughts you have or recommendations would be appreciated. I am an experienced helicopter mechanic, but just getting started on the Goldwing do-it-yourself projects. Thanks,
Dale Morrison
AnswerHi Dale,
Bearing races can be removed in the usual manner. Otherwise purchase the pullers or farm the task to a local Honda dealer.
I suspect you're more qualified to make the repairs than the certified Honda techs, respectfully.
