Motorcycle Repair: No sound from speakers, speaker wiring, dc voltage

Chris, I have am 83 goldwing and the radio is getting a signal, but no sound from the speakers. I check the DC voltage and it is zero. I think there is a speaker fuse, but do not know where it is. Any suggestions. Thanks Rick

Hi Rick.

I don't know if there is a speaker fuse (never heard of one before), but there is also the possibility of shorts in the speaker wiring; particularly if it is the original wiring.

Just trace the wires from the speakers to the radio with a multimeter.  Check for shorts and if there is a fuse for the speakers, then it will be in those circuits.
