Motorcycle Repair: trans, kx 250, hi chris

1992 kx 250  jumps in and out of 4th gear ONLY no grinding or other uncommon sounds  all other gears engauge  properly  shifts great also  i have a lot of exp. with upper ends, clutch ,ect very little with trans. lots of very small parts in there alittle intimadating! just trying to get an idea what to look for      thanks a milloin  chris

Or, to answer your question, 4th gear dogs/cogs are rounded (worn) and need replaced.
