Motorcycle Repair: CRANKECASE BREATHER, breather tube, breather filter

HI CHRIS
 I HAVE A 2004 VULCAN 800A , I GOT A HIGH 5 AIR INTAKE PUT ON MY BIKE BY A LOCAL SHOP DOWN HERE IN TEXAS . I'VE ONLY JUST NOTICED THAT THEY JUST BLOCKED OFF THE END OF THE CRANKECASE BREATHER TUBE , SURELY THEY SHOULD HAVE FITTED IT TO THE NEW INTAKE OR PUT A CRANKECASE FILTER ON THE END OF SAID TUBE SO THE ENGINE CAN BREATH . ALSO WOULD IT HAVE COURSED ANY DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE ?

Hi Michael.

It seems to me, that they should have reconnected the breather line or added a breather filter.  This could be an issue with that shop or, since I am not familiar with the details of that particular intake, it could be something that the new intake requires.  Go back and ask the shop about it.  I doubt that any damage has occured, but ask the shop about that blocked line anyway.
