Motorcycle Repair: 2005 Kaw.VulcanClassic1500 repair, kaw, lawnmower
QuestionMy bike has around 3,000 miles on it. My husband was loading my bike on a trailer and high centered it shearing off the two bolts from the bottom of the engine. The local dealership said if it's not leaking, drive it. However, I notice that it is seeping. Is my only recourse replacing the engine? They suggested trading it. But, I love my bike!
AnswerHi Ellen,
I'm sorry to hear that your Vulcan suffered damages. That's never a pleasant feeling.
The bolts should be extractable, though it may be an expensive repair. I need to view the damages to provide the best opinion.
I would not recommend following the advice of the local dealership. In fact, I wouldn't let them service my lawnmower.
The Vulcan's 1500cc engine produces much torque and power. The engine and frame endures great stress. I recommend having the damages repaired.
Respectfully,
