QuestionHi there i have just had my head gas flowed ported and polished with the valve seats being smoothed out so theres more of a smooth flow of mixture and various other mods but all put on a std bottom end, i timed it all up as per Haynes manual and when i turn engine over by hand it jams solid and when i go back the other way the same happens again.
I removed the stator plate and the little locator pin in the end of the crankshaft was bent i have now been waiting 3 months for one to come from Kawasaki dealership, but cannot understand why i am getting a jam any ideas would be good..Thanks sean..
AnswerHi Sean,
Usual cause is valves contacting piston crown.
Check camshaft timing again. Having another person re-check the timing sometimes yeilds mistakes made by the installer.
Check valves for damages- may be bent from touching piston especially if crankshaft was rotated quickly or firmly.
I cannot explain why Kaw would take so long to deliver a part. It must be perpetually backordered from a blackhole in space.
