Motorcycle Repair: 1983 yamaha 850 special no power to headlights, dead insects, yamaha 850

Hi there, i have an issue  with my 1983 yamaha 850 special and unforetunately i have no manual yet for it.  I have power to all the turn/running lights, but no power to the headlight or guages.  I tried just replacing the bulb but no luck there. The fuses are fine, i have power to all of them.  Starts fine , etc.  But i cant seem to find where i lose power to the headlight. Any ideas?

Hi Clint,

You'll need a wiring diagram to trace voltage through the headlight circuit.

Until then, you're just guessing, bassically.

You could disassemble the hand controls and inspect headlight and starter button switches. Look for corrosion, dead insects, webs, and other non-conductors.

Repair or replace accordingly.
