Motorcycle Repair: break in maintenance, valve clearances, clearance service

What do the dealerships do when you bring your bike in for your first service after your break in period? Is it just changing the oil and tightening the chain or is there more?

Hi Paul,

The usual procedure is to change oil and oil filter, check/adjust drive chain and lube chain, or change final drive oil, check and adjust valve clearances, check synchronization of carburetors, check and adjust tire pressures, check and service battery, and other tasks depending upon the shop and the model.

The primary tasks is oil/filter and valve clearance service.
