Motorcycle Repair: bandit 600 speedometer, bandit 600, shively

My speedo is not working, I see that there is no cable so assume it is electronic. Are there any checks possible, if not , how and what do I replace.

You need to get a copy of the service manual. Illustrated testing and parts replacement procedures is explained in the manual. It'll be the best $25 spent on your Bandit.
