Motorcycle Repair: 1993 yamaha virago, air leaks, air leak
Questionjust bought great shape very well cared for 12k miles problem is it is hard to keep at a constant rpm (at idle sometimes it goes high and while riding it will stick on its own) i adjust as needed but after awhile it slowly comes back down and becomes too low. My thinking is the carbs are dirty huh...easily starts no problems otherwise. what trick could i try if any thank you
AnswerHi Mike,
The carburetors may be varnished a bit, or an intake air leak may be present, or the synchronization may be off, or other.
Inspect the carburetors for evidence of varnishing. Check for air leaks and check synchronization.
