QuestionI have a 2003 Intruder 1400, I parked it at my daughters house and the sprinklers came on. I am not sure how long they were going but the bike was wet. Anyway, I got on to leave and the lights came on and I tried to start it. Lights went off. I tried again, with same result the third time the light didn't come on, except for the license light. the next time, even the license light didn't come on. I need help diagnosing the problem.
A brief history of the bike, for a short while when I start it, the starter cranks and makes a hesitation and then comtinues to start. Also when I turn the bike off there is a quick backfire.
Any help would be appreciated.

AnswerHi Lance,
I suspect water shorting caused the original non-starting problem.
I suspect the spark plugs may have wet fouled during starting attempts.
Remove the plugs and inspect them. Clean or replace them and try starting again.
I'll send a couple of tech files to your email.
