Kawasaki 1987 KLR650

The front spocket's teeth have nothing to grip.

The teeth of the transmission output shaft, Kawasaki number 13128, are worn away. Too tight a chain was the cause.

Anyway. Do I have to take the engine apart to replace it? Is this a difficult task?

A: Yes, unless you want to weld the new sprocket to the shaft.

A: Yes. I recommend having a local Kaw shop perform the work for you.
