Motorcycle Repair: yamaha forks, fork seal, fork tube

I have a 1985 yamaha virago xv 1000, I replaced the fork seal but still have a small amount of oil (film) on the fork tube. also I'm not shue how much oil I should use in each fork.

Hi Robert,

Check the service manual for fluid specs and repair procedures.

If a leak is present, the seal may be defective from the factory, defective from improper installation, or the tubes may need service or are defective.
