QuestionHi Bill,
I have a 1992 CB250N (Nighthawk, not Superdream), and am trying to re-assemble my master brake cylinder. I took it apart a while ago, and can't remember what goes where, in particular the clip. I haven't been able to find a diagram showing the assembly, and was hoping you could point me in the right direction. I have the spring in, but I don't know how/in which order to put in the 'plunger' and clip. I'd appreciate any help! Thanks, Sue
AnswerSue, in the US all the 250 Nighthawks have drum brakes. The CMX250 Rebel has a hydraulic brake. You can log into the http://www.powersportspro.com/partsfish/login.asp
site and ADD A VEHICLE... pretty much any of the front disc brake machines are similar.
From the inside:
Spring (if the ends are different, match the end with the end of the central plunger assy) then
Central plunger/piston assy. Remember that for the piston cups to produce pressure the leading edges have to go toward the end fitting. Think of them as brake fluid scoops.
Snap ring clip goes in against the flat washer, if it has one, on the outside to hold it all in place. The outer boot has a small retainer clip which goes on last after you have installed the dust boot.
