Motorcycle Repair: How to lower a Dyna?, independent shop, dyna
QuestionI have a 2004 H.D.Dyna Super Glide. I would like to change out the seat and lower the rear end to get a lower ride, around 25" if possible. Can I cut the springs or purchase shorter springs? Can the shocks be adjusted so that it won't bottom out? Can I do this on my own or should I have a dealer or independent shop do the work?
AnswerWhat you are going to have to do is purchace new shocks for the rear. You cant cut or replace the spring with a shorter spring.
You should be able to lower the rear no more than an inch or you will have a bottom out problem.
Good luck and happy riding
