Motorcycle Repair: testing engine fan, motor windings, bikebandit com

forgot to ask you mark is it possible for me to test the fan somehow, before i go and buy a new one.

Mick,

Check continuity (and Ohm resistance) of the fan motor windings. You can check the conductors and connectors, thermo-switch (fan sw), temperature sensor, and thermostat.

You'll have to have the Service/Repair Manual to learn the test values and testing procedures for the above.

Find manuals at www.bikebandit.com and on Ebay, to name a couple of sources. Check your local library, too. Librarys in my county have manuals and they don't mind if the pages get greasy.
