Motorcycle Repair: Overheating, heat conditions, heat range

Hey,Falcon.A friend of mine has a Ninja 1000 that overheats,stalls out on him,and dies at stop lights.Any thoughts?

Hi Adam.
 On your friend's bike, here are some things to check.

1)  Ignition timing.  This is normally self-correcting with carb synchro.

2)  Carb synchronization.

3)  Oil and filter change.  Is it due/overdue?  Is it the right grade of oil for the ambient heat conditions that the bike runs in.

4)  Heat range on the Spark plugs.  Is it correct for the bike?
