Motorcycle Repair: shadow spirit 750 charging system, rear marker, electrical wireing
Question i recently installed bullet rear marker lights on my bike. i installed a kuryakyn run/turn/brake controller and load equalizer. the next morning i went to start my bike and it just clicked. i put it on a trickle charger for a while. when the battery voltage was reading 13.0 with a dmm, i started the bike. when the bike is running the voltage is from 12.3-12.5...i called the local dealer and he said he doubts the problem is the stator...i did not have to hook the controller into any major electrical wireing, just light wires?any help. i dont want to ride my bike and get stuck somewhere.thanks
AnswerHi Jay.
If the stator is not producing 13 - 15 VDC, then the stator is likely bad or failing.
You still may want to look at the wiring that you just did to the rear lights. You could have a power drain there from a short or hot ground that may have happened. Or it could be the load balancer has a problem.
Check everything with a meter and let me know what you find.
Good luck.
