Motorcycle Repair: timing specs, timing specs, shively

I have a 1983 XR500R Honda that i just bought off a kid. I have gone thru it since it won't run and i need the timing specs for this bike, and any inside tips you know of to make sure i get it right,,Thanks

Hi Dale,

I recommend the Service Manual for specification information. You may find a website dedicated to the XR's that has this intel.

I don't own that paticular manual and AllExperts doesn't provide volunteers with such. I cannot remember the specs from MC's that old. : )
