Motorcycle Repair: starter, motorcycle tech, motorcycle usa

I have a '91 Kawasaki zx600D nija zx-6.  I need a new starter and need to know if any other years will work.  Can't find used '91 but can find other years.   Kawasaki website gives part numbers and different years have slightly different part numbers, but I dont know if that matters.

Hi Daniel,

The part number variations mean differences between the starter motors. For example, the difference may be internal gear reduction, physical design, or location of field terminal.

I recommend staying with the same P/N. Try posting the same question on motorcycle tech forums such as:
