Motorcycle Repair: engine, honda shadow, engine case

Hi Chris

I just recently bought a 88 Honda Shadow 1100

I found out the hard way how low it rides, I went over a small curb and scraped the bottom.

This has left me with a nice little hole for the oil to come dripping out.

Do I have to have the engine pulled and welded or is there another way to fix?

Hi Rob.
 Depending on where the hole is, then you may.  if it's on a sidecover, then replace the sidecover.  If it's in the engine case, then you will need to pull the engine.  If it's not repairable, then you may need to find a cood case somewhere and replace that half or replace the entire engine.
