Motorcycle Repair: 1983 GL1100 Interstate signal light problem, honda gl1100, warm weather

Hello Mark,
I have a Honda GL1100 Interstate. 1983 During cool and cold weather my signal lights will not work.  Sometimes by the time I get to town, 8 miles, they will work.In warm weather they work almost all the time.  The self cancel will cancel when lights aren't working.Usually if lights won't work in warm weather when I leave home, by the time I get to town they will work and remain working all day.It is annoying.  Closest repair shop with a good Honda mechanic is 150 miles over the mountain.  Thanks for any info you may have,

Hi Earl,

That's a common problem with those GL's. Honda doesn't seem to have a fix other than replacing the cancellor and sensors, which costs a fortune used.

Clean all connectors and use dielectric grease on terminals.
