QuestionI have a 98 lowrider that lately is spitting and popping a lot causing hesitation when accelerating. The plugs look ok and the wiring seems in good shape. Ideas? This has happened when I am out riding and can barely make it back.
Thanks.
AnswerHi Matt.
This is sounding like either an ignition timing problem, valve timing problem or a problem with the ignition part of electrical system.
Start by checking the valves. That is the easiest to check.
As far as a short or related electrical problem, just check the ignition circuit from power to coils for shorts, bad connections and check the fuse and fuse connections. Then check the coils and the spark plug wires
If it were a multi carb bike, like all of the foreign bikes, then that could be a factor, but it isn't in this case.
Good luck.
