QuestionHi, I have an aermacchi Harley SX 175 (1975). The speedo didn't work when I bought it, but the odometer did. Then that stopped working too.
I bought a new cable nothing. I bought a new speedo still nothing. I think its the drive since I lifted the bike, spun the wheel with the cable disconnected, and the cable did not spin around.
Anyway, I looked at the speedo drive and a piece is not connected. I looked into getting a new one but then that has to be connected too. But I don't know how to connect this little tab thing.
I have a photo of it on-line in a message board. Thanks in advance for the help.

AnswerNick,
Link won't work. Not familiar with that bike. If the cable and speedo check out you may be dealing with a worn recepticle in the case. I'm not sure the ease of swapping out the chuck/collet/reciever/recepticle in the case, check a good manual. As for the cable turning, you have to get the wheel spinning pretty fast to see even a very slow turning cable. Riding it with the speedo end of the cable infront of you will prove that out. Sorry I can't be more specific.
