QuestionLast summer, my Bike started to Make a KNOCKING sound on the Starter Solenoid, and the Bike would not turn over to start.
I replaced the Starter Solenoid and Starter, and the Bike worked fine for 2 days. (Both days happened to Rain,..and I got soaked riding).
THen, the Bike has the same sympton..
1) Knocking sound on the Starter Solenoid and starter does not turn over...and Bike won't Start.
Help...
Thanks
AnswerHi Raj,
I suspect the starter motor clutch is defective, not the starter motor or solenoid.
Visit: www.bikebandit.com" and click on "OEM Parts" to view michrofiche parts on-line. Select your MC or the VF700S from the menu, find "Starting Motor Clutch" and view the parts that I mentioned above. These parts are prone to wear out and may cause the noises you are hearing.
Also, visit: "www.motorcycle-usa.com/forum" (message board)and post the same question under "Ask Motoman." You'll likely hear from other CB700 owners who have or had the same problem as you. It's a great site for tech questions. My name is TZ750 on the message board. You have to become a member (free) before posting any comments. They won't send you any junk or spam.
