Motorcycle Repair: CB700S not starting...1984, starter solenoid, starter clutch

Last summer, my Bike started to Make a KNOCKING sound on the Starter Solenoid, and the Bike would not turn over to start.

I replaced the Starter Solenoid and Starter, and the Bike worked fine for 2 days. (Both days happened to Rain,..and I got soaked riding).

THen, the Bike has the same sympton..
1)  Knocking sound on the Starter Solenoid and starter does not turn over...and Bike won't Start.

Help...

Raj.... I think the problem is in the mechanical starter clutch instead of anything electrical. The starter clutch is probably slipping internally. You will need to get a manual and a few special tools, to make this repair.

Hopefully that is the only source for the noise you are hearing... otherwise, it must be an engine problem.
