Motorcycle Repair: rejetting a carb., harley davidson service, throttle linkage

I have a manual, but the removal sequence is general.  I should remove all hoses to carb. However, how do you remove the throttle linkage?
I'm worried about the springs.  I have good basic mechanical knowledge but not specific knowhow about removing this carb. Do you have a specific sequence when removing the carb and rejetting it?

I loosen up the throttle adjustment on the cables themself before I remove the throttle cables from the carb. I don't guess with jetting, I use a Dynojet 250 load controller dyno with air/fuel monitor and get the jetting correct the first time. Buy a factory Harley Davidson Service manual only.
