Nissan Repair: Datsun 210 40m.p.h. speed switch

1981 210 deluxe California model starts to cut out when ever I reach 40 m.p.h. wether its in 3rd or 4th gear does not matter. I have a Mitchell repair wiring diagram and it shows a speed amp and a 40 m.p.h. speed switch but I can't find it. Would it be the fault? Thank you very much for your time and site.

Hi Russ -

Have you checked the fuel pump? It sounds like that could be the problem as well.

Should have at least 35PSI, and volume test as follows:

Remove fuel line at rail. Insert in container and turn ignition on. You should have at least a cup of fuel in about 3 seconds.
