Nissan Repair: Exhaust noise

I recently replaced the entire exhaust line on my 94 Maxima from the Y-pipe thru the muffler with all OEM parts except the cat converter. Now I have a loud drone sound (when accelerating) that sounds like it's coming from under the hood area.  I can't feel any leaks at the y-pipe to manifold connections. Car was not that loud when the old, rusty system was in.  Any ideas?

Hi Tony -

First of all I would check the obvious, such as loose connections, bolts, etc, that may be vibrating, especially at the exhaust manifold connection since it appears to be coming from the engine compartment.

Is your check engine light on?
