hi i have a 86 Nissan maxima the coolent fan wont come on until you turn the air conditner on . Please Help !!!

Hi Alice -

There are several things you can check for the system. The 1986 was a tough year nissan to diagnose.

In this order, have a competent mechanic check the following, or if you have a test light and jump wires, I can walk you through each test.

1. Cooling temp switch
2. Thermostat
3. Fan motor (if you have 2 fans)
4. Fan relay
5. Cooling fan fuse
