Nissan Repair: signal indicators 97 Pathfinder, turn signal switch, nissan pathfinder

The signal indicators on my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder all stopped working at same time. Checked the fuse; it was blown. Replaced the fuse and tried signal; fuse blew right away. What do I do next?

Hi Evelyn -

Normally a common issue, this is the turn signal switch shorting out.

To check this, remove the turn signal switch harness (should be lower part of the steering column). Replace the fuse. If the fuse does not blow, then replace the turn signal switch.

If the fuse still blows, then you will need to check wiring between the harness and the fuse to see if wires are grounded.
