Nissan Repair: question about a 1986 nissan sentra, nissan sentra, catalic converter

I have a 1986 nissan sentra and the problem i have is when i go to start it up it won't turn over it makes a grinding sort of wining sound.And when i do finally get it to start after i drive a short distance it kinds of like loses pressure or something. then i have to wait like 20mins or longer to start up again.I have good alt. good batt.someone said i need a catalic converter.Please help me with your expertice. thankyou

Looks like you have a double problem here. The first (no start) looks like your starter. Replace that and you should be fine.

The second, I need more information, When you say looses pressure, do you mean that when you press the gas pedal car does not go and engine dies right away? Does this happen when the car is hot, cold, or does not matter? Is the check engine light on? If so, what are the codes?

Could be the fuel pump, but any answers you can give me would be very helpful.
