Nissan Repair: ask a question, long distances, light indicator

well i have this light that shows up and i want to know what does that mean and it says o/d off?

That light means overdrive. By turning it on, it is designed to save gas when driving at higher speeds for long distances.

I did not get the model and year of your Nissan, but most of the models have a button on or near the gear selector handle. That controls the OD system and the light indicator.
