Nissan Repair: gas cap door, nissan sentra, sentras

We own a 2008 nissan sentra.  A couple of months ago we triggered the inside opener to open the cas cap door and the lock broke off of it.  We did think anything about it but when we seen other sentras around town with the same problem, I figured they would have to have a recall or something.  Would you know anything about this?

I did not hear of any recalls on the gas door cable, however, there may be a bulletin put out by the dealer. Best way to check is to call the dealer and ask if there is any bulletins on that. Additionally, it may be on an extended warranty, they should be able to find out for you. Especially since your vehicle is not 5 years old yet.
