I would check the compressor to make sure you are not getting power to it.  Second, if you have an older Nissan with a hall effect sensor on the compressor that it is in good working order and the air gap is correct.  Another cause can be the air conditioner relay and another cause can be the pressure switch reading too much or too little refrigerant.  Email me back and let me know what you find.
